Gavin founded GMEC Solutions Limited in 2014, specifically to provide a specialist and comprehensive engineering support for our clients, building upon his extensive experience working within the UK aggregate industry for over 30 years.Through positions in both production management and engineering roles for both quarry operators and engineering contractors alike he has gained working knowledge and extensive understanding of Drystone Crushing & Screening processes, Washing & Filtration Systems, Asphalt & RAP production processes, Mobile Plant and vehicle maintenance workshops, Concrete production, Blast Furnace and Steel Slag Production and Processing, as well as Recycling systems and Warehousing product management and handling systems.Within these fields of industry, Gavin has been involved with all aspects of site engineering, from project analysis through to tender, organisation, management and completion. With projects ranging from basic plant repairs and maintenance coordination, through to major reactive breakdown situations and plant modifications / installations, including CDM Regulations 2015 managed installation and demolition projects.Gavin has also extensive experience in the management and planning of specialist confined space projects and maintenance, as well as completing detailed structural, critical component, plant efficiency, PPM and safety compliance inspections for clients. Gavin is continuously and proactively looking to develop his skills and knowledge base, as well as that of all members of the GMEC team, and along with his Hons Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Gavin has extensive certification with accredited bodies including NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, IPAF, C&G, as well as being a Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying, and membership of IET, IMechE, IStrucE and IOSH.Gavin is also trained and competent LOLER lifting equipment and CP7 gas safety equipment inspector.
Jason is a highly experienced, time-served and competent electrical maintenance engineer with over 30 years within the material handling industries.With experience ranging from electrical inspection, testing, fault finding and installation within steel making, coal and aggregate processing plant and equipment, through to Business and Power Management Systems in range of commercial installations.Jason holds City & Guilds qualifications for electrical engineering, installation, testing and inspection, along with a range of trade skill qualifications to allow safe and efficient completion of on site electrical engineering, within the range of industrial processing sites we service for our clients.
Callum joined the GMEC team straight from college and has pushed forward with gaining on-site experience with inspection, condition monitoring and site maintenance operations in a variety of production operations, including aggregate crushing and screening processes, as well as concrete and asphalt production. Callum has also been developed with specific training in 3D draughting and modelling to support our clients with site survey and component draughting capabilities.It is key for the future of the industry and for GMEC Solutions ourselves, that new competent and experienced engineers are developed and available, this is our vision with Callum and the individuals to follow him.Callum has recently sucessfully obtained a BTEC HNC in Mechanical Engineering and is a Technical Member of the Institute of Quarrying, as well as completing and holding site specific competency skills training inc. MPQC, IPAF, PASMA, NPORS and C&G Confined Space certification.Callum is also trained and competent LOLER lifting equipment and CP7 gas safety equipment inspector.
Connor is an experienced and competent materials handling engineer with over 6 years within the metal fabrication and aggregate processing industries, and is recognised by Clients his consistent and conscientious approach and attention to detail in all aspects of the services he completes.As well as specifically training and competency in Welding and Fabrication operations, Connor has completed and holds the IOSH Managing Safely certification and has amassed a full range of site specific competency skills training inc. MPQC, IPAF, PASMA, NPORS and C&G Confined Space certification as a core, though this is far from an exhaustive listing.
