It is great news that GMEC Solutions are looking to recruit another quality Maintenance Engineer/Fitter to join our team and develop further our services and meet the requirements of our clients. This role will involve both hands on site maintenance as well as plant and equipment inspection services. Split of 60/40 between on site repairs and maintenance and plant inspection works. The candidate will require experience and knowledge of materials handling industry, ideally the aggregate processing industry with time served on crushing & screening operations, as well as concrete and asphalt production operations. The role will involve on-site fault finding and planned preventative maintenance, as well as reactive emergency repairs and engineering improvements. As well as the hands on repairs this role will also involve the planning and completion of comprehensive equipment inspection to meet requirements of PPM systems GMEC manage for our clients. Candidate will require competency with on site maintenance tooling such as hot works oxy-propane cutting equipment and MMA welding. Candidate will also need to be comfortable with or willing to learn use of data capture equipment such as touch screen tablets such as iPad, laptop, ultrasonic meters as will be using this equipment to capture and process data from inspections we complete for our clients. The role at times will require Working at Height and Confined Space access and working, so applicants must be comfortable with this aspect of the role. Base of operations is at Bridgend in South Wales, but works completed by GMEC are UK wide, with core works being across South Wales and South West of England.
